Annie Lin

Senior Associate

Annie Lin has experience in construction management and structural engineering. She is knowledgeable in the areas of project management, document control and review, and structural design. Prior to CPMI, Annie worked full-time on-site for a large general contractor on a $660 million design-build project for an eight-story office building, parking garage, and pedestrian and connecting bridge. Her responsibilities included project management of subcontractors for finishes, including interpreting construction documents (request for proposals, contract specifications, contracts, and shop drawings), creating schedule of values for payment applications, tracking progress percent complete on payment applications, and evaluating change orders. She also has experience with structural analysis of temporary structures for construction and stadiums.

Project Highlights

Office Building – Managed materials and contract documents for the subcontractors of finishes to ensure timely delivery and performance for $660 million and 860,000 square feet design/build project for an eight-story office building in Fort Meade, Maryland. Collaborated with other office engineers, project engineers, field team, subcontractors, and architect to present viable design solutions to the owner. Reviewed request for proposal, construction specifications, contracts, and shop drawings to delegate scopes of work. Utilized Prolog Converge and Resident Management System (RMS) to create and track RFIs, submittals, bonds, insurance, and pay apps. Mitigated project risk by creating the schedule of values and tracking payment applications, change estimates, and change orders that contribute to Owner’s payment application and margin analysis. Assisted in the development and review of Activity Hazard Analysis, monitor jobsite work activities, and correct unsafe acts or conditions. Organized premobilization meetings, preparatory meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, etc. Maintained the transmittal and delivery trend chart from Prolog Manager to enforce document control and investigate existing or potential schedule delays. Corresponded with subcontractors and area superintendents to facilitate weekend work requests with the owner’s representative.

Bridge Suspender Ropes Replacement and Rehabilitation of the Main Cables – Collaborated with assistant and project engineers to design temporary structures in support of construction during the replacement of 592 suspender ropes, handrails and upper-level sidewalk, and rehabilitation of the main cables of the George Washington Bridge in New York, New York. Created working drawings through AutoCAD to design temporary structures. Applied US Building Codes and performed structural analysis using MathCAD and RISA 2D. Created submittal packages in Bluebeam for the general contractor.

Stadium – Assisted principal structural engineer for the renovation and upgrade of the Volvo Car Stadium (Daniel Island Tennis Center) in Charleston, South Carolina into the Credit One Stadium in a high seismic and hurricane risk location. The project includes a new main entrance and four-story Stage House that shades 6,620 square feet and supports up to 150,000 pounds of entertainment rigging. Computed structural calculations by utilizing US Building Codes (ASCE 7-16, AISC, IBC) and performing finite element analysis (SAP2000).
