International Airport

The South Terminal Development Project involved renovation and new construction at a major Florida airport. CPMI was engaged by the owner to provide contract dispute analysis and resolution services on a delay and disruption claim. The project encountered a number of critical delays that severely impacted construction progress. CPMI examined issues regarding a complex, state-of-the-art electronic security system and devices; numerous design changes and extra work performed while the airport remained in use; extra work as a result of changing code implications and jurisdiction; and changes associated with the smoke evacuation system. CPMI conducted a critical path delay analysis, identified the causes of delay and the responsible party, and attended numerous change-order negotiations. The case was settled prior to litigation. CPMI also evaluated active schedules on the project to ensure completion.
