Mehuli Das specializes in assessing schedule delays and cost overruns for capital projects in Alberta, Canada. Mehuli has previous experience in construction supervision, project controls, and design and project management for large-scale transportation infrastructure projects and rural asset management programs for municipal and provincial government bodies. Prior to joining CPMI, Mehuli worked for four years as an engineering consultant in the transportation infrastructure industry, where she led a team focused on project management and quality management. Her experience includes reviewing project documents, performing safety and quality inspections, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget. She also has experience in structural modelling software, designing structural elements, and conducting feasibility studies in preliminary and detailed design phases for structural rehabilitation and replacement projects.

Mehuli’s previous roles have allowed her to gain well-rounded experience in a client-facing role to support clients throughout projects and infrastructure management programs through preparation of assessment reports, presentations, and technical design reports and drawings.

Mehuli is fluent in English, Hindi, and Bengali, and has elementary proficiency in Spanish.

Project Highlights

Highway Bridge/Interchange Project – Provided construction, advisory and quality management services for the management of design-build project encompassing multiple highway interchanges in Calgary, AB, to provide free-flow travel around the city. The $1.2 billion project included construction of 24 highway and pedestrian bridges, new ITS systems, utility systems, traffic signals, highway lighting, and overhead signage as well as shared use bike/pedestrian passes. Worked as a lead quality inspector responsible for day-to-day construction oversight and inspections for quality assurance and compliance with contractual specifications, drawings, and plans. Managed project controls team and reviewed submittals, RFIs, NCRs, and change orders. Reviewed contractor requests for payment and schedule extensions, and monthly construction estimates against inspected elements daily.

New Construction and/or Rehabilitation of Existing Municipal/Industrial Bridge Crossings – Conducted site inspections and assessed site conditions of various rural infrastructure such as culverts, standard and major bridges to determine scope of structural rehabilitation/replacement required at bridge sites. Provided conceptual solutions based on preliminary assessments of site conditions for client review and approval and provided adjacent engineering services as Owner’s Engineer to support project financing, gaining provincial funding and providing support in tender and construction phases. Provided project insights using formatted data reports to suggest plans for future infrastructure program management planning. Assisted in change order document review, schedule and cost analysis from contractor bids and investigation of incorporating climate risk mitigation strategies within solutions. Provided detailed designs, tenders, specifications, and plans for final implementation of design strategies to be executed in implementation stage.
